Day 18 – Margao to Vasco-da-Gama

Thursday, March 26, 2009

The final day of the ride was a relaxed one. I had to cover something like 30-40 Kms, depending on diversions, over 4-5 hours. I had my breakfast at Margao and started exploring an alternative road along the coast to reach Vasco. The only attraction of the day was taking photographs of few old houses and admiring some of the churches on the way. The roads were really good for a cyclist as I rode through the Zuari Nagar, where the Zuari Industries were located. Here’s a picture of the industries from the Cansaulim beach.

I reached the Vasco station by about 12 PM leaving me a considerable time to get my Bike on the luggage compartment and have a good lunch too. The train journey from Vasco was very scenic and to be enjoyed during day time. At one place, it was running very close to the sea….

… few hours later, we were on the hills as the train was going through the Western Ghats with some picturesque locations.
